What I Wish I Knew About Mindset Before I Launched

It's Saturday afternoon. There's golden light streaming through the window behind me, the sweet scent of Patchouli & Vanilla on the air and all is quiet on the home-front. And exhale...

This is such a rare occurrence, in fact I often feel frustrated that I can't have an uninterrupted thought! And whilst my son is at a playdate and my husband is off watching rugby, there's nothing I'd rather do than write my first newsletter. My intention is to create engaging & valuable newsletters full of really useful things that can help you in your business. But more than that, I really want to share with you some of the ideas & resources that are helping me deal with the general overwhelm we all experience juggling motherhood and entrepreneurship.

MINDSET

One of the things I wish I'd known before launching a business is just how important your MINDSET is, especially when you're juggling motherhood and entrepreneurship. It's taken me 2 years to get to the point where I realise it's actually the number one priority in my business, and needs consistent work. There are books, there are podcasts, there are memberships and coaching programmes and even 1:1 support out there.  The thing is to find something that resonates with you. And this might change over time. I could rattle off a long list of successful female entrepreneurs I've followed and learned from over the last couple of years. And each of them helped me with different aspects of my business. They were like mentors to me, even if they didn't know it! But one thing I've learned from them all is that everyone feels like they aren't good enough at some stage, even the most successful businesses owners.

I'm not ready to do this thing, I don't know what I'm doing, I'm worried I'll mess things up, I'm worried people will judge me, I'll look like a fraud.

And this is the number one mindset block that most of my clients have too when it comes to sorting out their website.  It's my job to remind them that EVERYONE feels this way. It's normal. And it's going to be okay. It's okay not to have everything figured out before you begin. It's okay to not know what you're doing. It's okay for things not to be perfect.

I love this chart above. Can you identify where you are? It's important to know that it's normal to pass through the fear zone before you can learn & grow.

4 Reasons You Haven’t Been Able To Get Your Website To Convert

I see so many women making false assumptions about what it really takes to create a professional website that converts. They talk themselves out of it before they even begin and let the overwhelm hold them back from achieving their dreams... Click here to read the full blog post

YOUR QUESTIONS ANSWERED:

In this section of each newsletter I'll be answering your questions! Got anything you'd like to know? Hit reply and let me know! Do I need a website in order to appear in Google searches? - Debbie, Facebook No, you don't need a website in order for your business to appear in Google search results. Simply register your business on Google My Business. You can do this for free, and you don't even need to make your physical location public (phew, that's a relief for us work-from-home mothers). When anyone in the local area does a "near me" search (coffee shop near me, life coach near me, web designer near me - you get the drift), your business should pop up on top of Google.

A FEW OF MY FAVOURITE THINGS...

In this section, I'll share some of my favourite resources from across the web. My all time favourite podcast right now is Soulful MBA. At the time of writing this, I know the hosts (Sandy Connery & Jeni Barcelos) are bringing it to an end in it's current form and next week they're launching an all new podcast (I'm chomping at the bit about this one, obvs, and just can't wait!).  But Soulful MBA have such brilliant podcasts, totally binge-worthy and inspiring and real. They've helped me gain such focus and clarity in my business. My favourite (and slightly controversial) podcast from them is The Value Of A Wife. I also recommend all podcasts in their Financial Intelligence series, such as What You Focus On Grows.

2 MORE PLACES LEFT FOR THIS QUARTER! If you're needing a bit of website help, get in touch and I'm happy to hop on a free call with you to discuss your needs and advise you on your next best steps. I have space for 2 more websites in March. April is full.

And that's a wrap, folks! If you'd like to get involved in sharing your story, guest blogging, or if you have any questions you'd like answered in the newsletter, please get in touch. Caitlin x
